Dear Alexandra,

I just wanted to finally let you know just how pleased we are with the Teddy Bear Urn we got from you after our son Connor passed on shortly after birth back on December 9th 2004.

He was only 24 weeks along when he born and survived 10 hours, 41 minutes before his little body gave up and we had to let him go.

My wife carried "Connor Bear" everywhere she went for the first few months, but now is fine at leaving him at home and tucked into our bed until she gets home and goes to sleep holding him every night.

Connor Bear has been the greatest comfort to her and, as you can see by the included picture, he shows all the "mileage" she has put on him with all the hugs and tears while holding him.

He must be the "Most Loved Bear in America".

Every one who sees him thinks he is the most adorable Bear ever and says that having a Bear Urn like this is the most wonderful idea. We tell people all the time where we got him, how affordable your Bears are and most of all about the best customer service we have gotten anywhere. I gave [him] the title of "Most Loved Bear in America".

Thank You Again and Again for such a wonderful Bear.

Sincerely,
Corey and Jennetta Shier

Joy and Sorrow . . .

Dear Alexandra,

This is Corey, Jenn's husband writing, it is my sad duty to write to you and let you know some sad news.

If today is Wednesday the 30th, then 2 weeks ago today I took Jenn to the hospital, she was pregnant with twins, she would have been 23 weeks along tomorrow.

However, I took her in because of a pain in her tummy. The doc's at Loma Linda Medical University Center in Loma Linda, CA. told us that she was in labor. They tried to stop it, but informed us that since was already dilated to 5cm that it was in her best interest to remove the cervical cerclage that was holding the twins in.
With that was done, it was by prayer alone that they stayed in until Sunday night at midnight; which is when her water broke. Benjamin's water bag was hanging down through the birth canal most of the time and may have picked up some bacteria from down there which may have hurt him. 19 hrs later he was born, stillborn at 6:58pm Monday of last week. We waited about 4 hours and when Hay didn't seem to move anymore they attempted to pop his bag too. Hailey didn't seem to want to come out and the doctors were very concerned for Jenn's health. So about 8:30 the next morning they took Jenn into surgery and removed Hayden by force (D & E).

She had a very bad infection that went septic (into her bloodstream) and she was in the ICU ward. She was sedated for four days and on this past Saturday she was taken off the vent tube. Her blood pressure was very low, 50's to low 60's over low 30's (57-65 / 30"s), and her white blood cell count was over 34000, with high temperatures.

Since she was still sick w/this infection, they did an ultrasound and CT Scan to find out why. They found a "gaseous-gangrene" cloud in her uterus wall. So, this past Sunday morning they took her back into surgery and did a partial hysterectomy to remove her uterus.

As of today, she is off any vent tubes, she is feeling a bit better, her blood pressure is back up to normal, she is off most of the IV tubes and medications, the major parts of swelling are down, her abdomen is draining well, the color in her face is back to normal, and she is no longer listed in critical condition.

MEMORIAL FOR BENJAMIN AND HAILEY

The good news is that with a lot of care she will be coming home alive soon.

The bad news is, is that we are needing 2 more teddy bears. I thought I'd write you and inform you of how she is doing. It's been a one hell of a past two weeks, but it looks like we are starting to come out of the woods now, but she will have a long emotional recovery. Connor-bear has been with her almost the whole time when and everybody who sees him and learns of him thinks that it is a wonderful thing.

I don't know what else to say, except that we will be contacting you soon about obtaining more teddy bears. So I will close this now and peruse your website. Take care and I'll talk to you soon. If you want to, you can attempt to call her at the hospital.

Take Care,
Sincerely,
Corey Shier
